How to use this reading
The traditional section is an original summary of A. E. Waite's book for the Rider–Waite–Smith deck. Tarot schools and decks differ; no single universal meaning is claimed here. The upright and reversed readings, example and combination that follow are contemporary Starmora reflection prompts, not a literal translation or knowledge of a future event. Starmora's artwork is also original and need not reproduce every detail of the historical illustrations.
The card's place and themes
Swords · rank 7. Themes: indirect strategy, withheld information, privacy. First identify the question and position through which you are reading this card.
Traditional symbolism: Rider–Waite–Smith
A figure carries five swords away from a camp and leaves two behind. Waite includes plans and attempts alongside conflicting readings; the image alone cannot prove that someone deceived you.
Upright reading: a Starmora reflection
You may wish to solve something indirectly or keep information private. Distinguish privacy from avoiding a shared agreement, and consider the risk your method creates for others.
Reversed reading: a Starmora reflection
A withheld detail may need disclosure, or your justification may need review. Name the missing information and the repair you want instead of labelling someone deceptive.
An everyday example for this card
If withholding information in a joint project, consider whether it protects privacy or avoids an agreement, then make the necessary disclosure.
A question for your experience
Which part of this plan am I avoiding discussing openly?
Reading with King of Swords
With the King of Swords, examine accountability in an indirect method. Which part of the plan changes when you explain its reasoning openly?
This pairing promises no event or relationship outcome. Its reflection can change with the cards' order and the spread's question; consider it alongside actual conditions and your own judgement.
