Compare two Chinese zodiac signs using this tool's three-animal groups and opposite pairs. Explore its stated method and original conversation prompts.

Calculation and interpretation method

The simple comparison uses the elements, modalities or animal groups stated by the tool for the selected signs. Planetary degrees, ascendants and houses of two people cannot be inferred from these inputs. Use two natal charts for a more detailed Western-astrology synastry comparison.

Use animal groups as a conversation topic

Before choosing two year animals, check each against a complete birth date. Read the tool's group or opposition explanation and ask about a shared experience: where do pace, structure or space needs differ? A shared group need not mean automatic agreement, and an opposite group need not mean continual conflict. Each person can provide an example to evaluate the symbolic classification separately from the actual relationship.

These groups are neither a success percentage nor a complete Chinese-astrology chart. Hour, day and month pillars are not added. For a shared decision, discussing each person's desired contribution supplies more concrete information than expecting an outcome from two animal names alone.

The comparison's stated method

The tool uses four groups of three: Rat–Dragon–Monkey, Ox–Snake–Rooster, Tiger–Horse–Dog and Rabbit–Goat–Pig. It labels pairs six positions apart in the twelve-animal sequence as opposites. Starmora wrote the conversation prompts. The Hong Kong Observatory source describes heavenly stems, earthly branches and the calendar cycle; it does not validate these prompts or relationship success. A year animal does not represent either person's complete BaZi chart, birth time or actual behaviour.
