Calculation and interpretation method

The original deck contains 22 major and 56 minor arcana. You select cards from a shuffled deck without repeating a card within one spread. Orientation is random when reversed cards are enabled; otherwise cards are read upright. Selection serves a symbolic reflection exercise.

Stay with one question

Draw one card with a brief, open question. Write its first association in your own words before reading the explanation. Observe where the association and suggested meaning differ. For a communication question, separate what you want to say from what you do not yet know. Working with one card need not explain an entire experience; making one question clearer can be a sufficient purpose.

Do not treat upright and reversed readings as opposite destinies. Adapt the observation prompt to your circumstances and choose a finishable step. If an explanation does not fit, writing why may teach something without requiring another card.

The card, orientation and spread position

A card's theme, its spread position and its upright or reversed reading contribute together. Explore inward attention or a difficulty with the theme rather than treating reversal as simply a negative outcome. Cards do not repeat within one spread; a new spread makes another random selection. The Met source explains history and structure, while the original questions here belong to Starmora's reading method. A note combining your question, card and actual experience can make the symbol more concrete.
