4/1 profile: connections and a foundation

Explore lines 4 and 1 in the 4/1 Human Design profile, how to read them together and an everyday reflection exercise.

How is 4/1 determined?

The first number identifies Personality Sun line 4; the second identifies Design Sun line 1. These are not scores or successive development stages. The profile is calculated from birth details rather than selected according to which description sounds familiar.

Line 4: Trust and connections

Sharing through familiar relationships and mutual trust. Consider closeness and boundaries without reducing relationships to collecting opportunities.

Clarify mutual contribution and expectations and allow time to rest.

Line 1: Investigation and foundations

Learning the basis of a subject. Research can provide confidence, while trying to remove every uncertainty can postpone a beginning.

Identify the three pieces of information you actually need.

Reading the two themes together

4/1 and 1/4 contain the same two lines in different positions. In 4/1, the first number is Personality line 4 and the second is Design line 1. Reversing them changes the chart information rather than providing an alternative spelling.

A reflection for one week

When presenting an idea to familiar people, establish the shared context and explain its foundation. Do not assume that maintaining a relationship requires never revising your view. Note the difference between updating an idea with new information and changing it under social pressure.

Consider your profile alongside type and authority. Two people with the same profile can have different centers and channels. Record examples that fit and do not fit; this text is not a personality diagnosis or a prediction.
